erika_bolivia.JPGThe Mission Team uses Matthew 28:18-20 – Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age,” and Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth,” as our guiding verses, and we lean on the direction of the Holy Spirit through prayer.

We are a congregation committed to “give” and “go”—that is to “give” of our treasure to worthy Christ-centered missions and mission organizations, which reflect the same beliefs, values and passions as Community of Faith, and to identify appropriate mission opportunities in which our members can actually “go” and serve.
The Mission Team focuses on searching, researching, receiving presentations, praying and deliberating to find the right ministries and missions in which we can get involved.

We give and go to local organizations such as:

Union Gospel Mission (http://www.ugmportland.org),

Portland Rescue Mission (http://www.portlandrescuemission.org),

Teen Challenge—Portland Metro Men’s Center (http://www.teenchallengepnw.com/portland_mens).

We give and partner internationally with:

The Gideons International (http://www.gideons.org

Eastern European Ministry Network (http://eemn.org)

One Mission Society (http://www.onemissionsociety.org)
Community of Faith also supports a local outreach ministry to the area’s Christian and pre-Christian business professionals—Professionally Speaking, (http://www.professionallyspeaking.org) led by Community of Faith’s own Dr. Roger and Claudia Gehring.
